Space Station Nursery in Droylsden has been busy once again raising funds for Manchester Children’s Hospital.

The nursery have held a pyjama fundraiser every year since opening in 2017, raising a total of £6,547.95 for the children’s hospital in total in that time. This year they enlisted the help of their sister nurseries within the Kids Zone Nursery Group, who joined in with the sponsored pyjama week.

The primary focus for this year’s funds is to support a major campaign for the hospital’s rooftop play area which is used by many of the 280,000 patients at the hospital each year. The play area was first installed 14 years ago and currently requires a revamp so it can continue to be used by the children visiting the hospital, either for appointments or treatments to use.

To kickstart Space Station’s fundraising they held a Halloween raffle across all of their nurseries which raised over £500 in ticket sales and the winner at each site received a hamper of Halloween treats. The nursery held many activities with the children to help raise more funds including a slumber party, pamper session, teddy bears picnic, sharing bedtime stories and also learning about bedtime routines. Humphrey the hospital mascot joined the children throughout the fundraising week.

The hospital is important for the nursery, supporting and caring for some of their children. You can support the hospital appeal here
